"Rooted in an old tradition"
September 2, 2015
It was a cold, rainy March day in Milwaukee, and I was lucky enough to come across the Milwaukee Public Market, definitely a unique downtown food destination. John Gurda, a Milwaukee Historian, said back in 2005, "“The facility is rooted in an old tradition. Long after the novelty wears off, the Public Market will remain the freshest landmark in downtown Milwaukee.” It is located in the famous Third Ward, just south of downtown.
I love places like this, and just walked around and around savoring the food and treats and watching the people. I'll let you walk with me in this gallery. Just a word of warning — you are about to get very hungry!
On the left, the Soup & Stock Market, then the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe. On the right, a place to stop rest and have a hot dog or hamburger, or right next to it, Thai-namite, then Nehring's Family Market
